It must be put into consideration that gorilla permits are at a very high demand, they are sold on first come first serve basis, the earlier you book your gorilla permit the better to avoid last minute booking which is always disappointing.
You are advised to book your gorilla permit in advance at least 2-3 months prior to your arrival.
Uganda Gorilla permits costs usd700 per person and in Rwanda permits cost usd1500 whereas in DRC they cost usd400 and in the wet seasons, Congo gorilla permits cost usd200. The fees include park entrance and ranger guide fee. However, if you only need to book a gorilla permit from us at gorilla safari trails, you will add an extra fee of usd50 to book for you a gorilla permit.

Bwindi impenetrable national park has 4 sectors where gorilla trekking is done including Buhoma sector, Nkuringo sector, Ruhija and Rushaga. The park is a home to over 18 gorilla families ready to receive visitors each day and only 1 hour is allowed to stay with the gorillas once they are met. Mgahinga forest national park has 1 gorilla family. Rwanda has 16 gorilla families where as DR. Congo has about 8 gorilla families.
What to wear/bring for gorilla trekking experience
Dress codes are informal. Lots of light clothing, supplemented by light sweaters for the cool evenings and heavier clothing for the higher altitudes especially Volcanoes.
long sleeved shirts, cotton or gore tex trousers, strong walking shoes with ankle support, socks that you can tuck your trousers into, light gloves to protect your hands from thorns and nettles, a hat and sunglasses to provide protection against the sun and a water proof jacket in neutral colors may come in handy in the moist mountains, insect repellents.
Soft-sided luggage is required. One medium sized duffel bag and one small day pack (carry-on) per person should be adequate. Laundry services are available at most accommodations.
Bring also spare clothing, cameras, binoculars and film. Please note that you are not allowed to use a flash when taking photos of Gorillas they can charge on you. It is a good idea to take along several different speeds of film (64 to 1000) as gorillas can be found in open sun or in the dark underbrush of the forest. It amazing meeting with the gorillas and it’s regarded as unforgettable experience.
